Free surgery, done by volunteers.

Surgery for people who have waited years, at no cost to them.

Every year about two thousand volunteers from forty countries serve with Mercy Harbor for anything from two weeks to several years. Surgeons and nurses, and also cooks, electricians and the people who run the laundry.

People our teams have operated on

Mariam, Mamadou, Grace and thousands of others had surgery with our volunteer teams, and a chaplain prayed with each of them who wanted it.

Why we do this

Since 1985, Mercy Harbor has done free surgery and dental work in places where a simple operation is out of reach. In some districts we work in, the nearest surgeon is a two-day journey and costs a year’s wages.

Jesus healed people that everyone else walked past. We think his church should still be doing that. You can help by:

1

Making a donation

A gift helps someone get the surgery they’ve been waiting for.

2

Becoming a volunteer
